A Progressive Populist article in November of 1996 said, “New Party member Barack Obama was uncontested for a State Senate seat from Chicago.” An archived page from the New Party’s Web site in October 1996 says, “Three NP members won Democratic primaries last spring and face off against Republican opponents on election day [including] Barack Obama.” A spokesman for the Obama campaign insists his candidate ran as a Democrat in that race and said, “Don’t believe the trash you read on the Internet.”
Big news… Typically for socis they don’t call themselves what they are – SOCIALISTS, but Democrats (sounds better). Obama is “democrat” which means he is fecking socialist. Usually there are discoveries about their communist past (meaning: working for russians).

I am not a republican but I just saw on TV the RNC wants to change the Dem party to Democrat Socialist Party. Makes sense to me! I have met many people in all walks who vote dem and say they are Communists and Socialists. In the stuff I was doing, some plotted to murder others and most were racist, violent and self centered. These are just the ones I met, sure some are just well meaning sheep, but time to WAKE UP!.

As a Democrat and an American, I still believe in capitalism. But when certain companies ship jobs overseas, and cut corners to maximize profit at the expense of the consumer, then I that believe regulation is necessary.

The New Party is not a socialist party. It was, however, created when the Democrats started shifting so far right in the eighties that progressives felt a need to create a “new progressive party in 1992.” The New Party works in Democratic primaries to shift the Democrats toward a more progressive direction. This is just another attempt to falsely smear Barack Obama as a “leftist.” Barack Obama is not a socialist; he’s barely a liberal.

The majority of socialists would never work within the liberal-capitalist parties and none respect the hugely irrelevant DSA.
There is a very small minority of socialists who try work within the Democratic Party (in hopes of pulling it to the left), but their efforts have never worked in over 75 years.
